Is Patient completely asleep during Laparoscopic surgery? |

Yes, patient is completely asleep and will not know anything about the surgical procedure. A general anaesthesia is required for almost all Laparoscopic surgeries. |

All surgeries can be performed using Laparoscope? |

Almost all abdominal surgeries can be performed with laparoscope. Other factors may be sometimes determinant in deciding whether surgery should be done conventionally or Laparoscopically. However many surgical procedure can be successfully done with Laparoscope. Patient should discuss with the surgeon to decide on the procedure of the surgery. |

What are the benefits of Laparoscopic surgery? |

Less post operative respiratory complications and small incisions enhances the speedy recovery of the patient. In many cases , recovery time of most abdominal surgeries is reduced by almost half or more. Also the chances of infection in the incision and post operative complications are reduced in some types of Laparoscopic surgeries. |

How soon can I resume my normal routine? |

Most patients can resume normal routine in about 2-3 weeks. However, the length of time to recover and return to normal daily routine varies by the type of procedure and sometimes from individual to individual. But it certainly takes less than 1/3rd time of open surgery. |

Is Laparoscopy Surgery expensive? |

As so many fine disposable instruments and accessories are involved so the cost is generally double compare to open surgery. However it can vary from operation to operation. |
